So I am doing terribly documenting our first year of marriage! However, the big catch up is…WE ARE HAVING A BABY Our little bundle of joy will be here February 1st! We are so very very excited. I cannot wait to hold this baby in my arms. HOWEVER, I am still questioning how a baby goes from being inside to being outside of me. (yes, I know where babies come from, I know HOW it works, I just can’t wrap my mind around it.)
So the story, which is far more pleasant than the idea of birth…We went to Chicago for my birthday. We had a lovely time, if you will remember from 2 posts ago. While we were there Trent kept saying I think you are pregnant. I kept saying no I’m not, I am just tired. We kept having to rest as we walked around the windy city (not my usual style at all). The whole time, Trent just kept saying I am sure you are pregnant! So we get back from our lovely getaway and pick up Kirby from my fantastic parents in law’s house. Oddly enough while we there we discussed baby names. Not at all sure why or what brought that subject up but we did. So we are back in the car heading home and Trent suggested I take the pregnancy test when we get home (he was that sure! I figured it would be negative and I would prove him wrong. HA!) As Trent was bringing in the bags, I went to take the test…by the time my hands were washed the test was….POSTIVE! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! So I walked out of the bathroom stunned and made it to the backdoor as Trent was coming in. I said “oh my gosh, it was POSITIVE!” eloquent I know. We hugged, we cried, we wanted to tell the world. But we waited a few more weeks for that.
We are now almost half way through and I must say, it is flying by! I can’t believe how much a baby grows in 18 weeks! We have another ultrasound on Wednesday and we are so super excited! Life is good, and I am so lucky that this is my life
xoxoxo
Oh and here I am the day we found out
