So it’s been almost 5 months since my last post but our little bundle of joy arrived February 8th at 2:18pm. It was one heck of a ride that’s for sure…but to answer my question from months and months ago…it is 110% worth it. An all consuming love was the product of 42 hours of labor. He is the greatest thing I have ever done and for sure the hardest I have worked for anything. Here is, of course, a list of the happenings of this crazy life….
1. This kid has the BEST smile ever. Seriously. Look at this kid.

2. This boy for sure made me really see how much I love his daddy. Trent has taken to his new role nicely. Marshall from the get go was head over heals for his papa, this feeling is completely mutual. It is so adorable. We noticed about 3 weeks old, Marshall, would try so hard to stay awake so they could play. Now, they are inseparable and mommy is only needed to eat or rock him to sleep. Trent for sure gets the biggest laughs and smiles from our sweet little m:)

3. The changes that happen to your body…or at least mine has been fascinating. I have been very patient with this whole weight losing thing. We are now almost 5 months out and I just have 8 more pounds to lose. I haven’t been trying to lose the weight, thank you breast feeding and giving birth to an 8 lb 6 oz bundle of joy! I have just been letting nature do it’s thing. I need to eat a LOT to produce milk and it is amazing how hungry I always am! (sorry no photo of ol girl)
4. I’ve said before, I will say it again and again. Trent and I have been blessed with an amazing support system. Lots of visitors, help, meals, texts which have all made this adjustment to parenthood “easy”. Clearly, easy is a relative term when your lives have been turned upside down in the most incredible way.
5. Shhh don’t tell anyone, and I am not bragging…this is going to seem like bragging…but our baby is a SLEEPER!!!!!!!!! He has been since birth. We did however always open the blinds during the day and turn down the lights and tv off at night from the start. I don’t know if that helped or not but for the last 3 months has slept between 9-12 hours a night. Per the doctor I would wake him up in the middle of the night to eat, once the doctor said I could let him sleep at 7 weeks old, he has slept through the night most every night. It is GLORIOUS and we are SOOO thankful!!!

6. Additionally on the sleep thing…for the first few months he slept in his swing. Judge if you will, but we were very rested first time parents. Just sayin.
7. Speaking of sleep he has been out for a while and I am getting tired myself! More updating next post…if you are lucky it will be this week and not 5 months from now. Either way, life is amazing. We are so very blessed and so very thankful.

xoxo
